The newly established Center for Visual Arts and Research (CVAR) in the historic walled city of Nicosia seeks a dynamic and team-oriented professional to serve as Chief Operating Officer (COO). CVAR will provide a platform for the exploration of Cyprus’ cultural heritage through visual and creative arts, including by hosting a unique collection of painting sand artifacts that highlight the island’s multicultural past and through a varied schedule of exhibitions and programs. Additionally, CVAR will support research and scholarship in related fields of study.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent will be a member of CVAR’s executive management team, responsible for planning, operations and fund raising. The COO will develop and implement strategic, communications and stakeholder-management plans; will direct and coordinate the operations of CVAR and will work to assure CVAR’s financial sustainability.

The COO’s specific responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the Executive Director to ensure that CVAR grows and fulfills its mission;
